Attractions
Attractions come in a variety of shapes,
sizes and styles. The relation your event has to an
attraction can be equally as varied. Here are some of the
        most familiar variations.

          - Attractions provided to
the public free of charge with fees being covered by the
sponsor, such as the fire department providing safety
          demonstrations.

          - Attractions provided on
a pay-per-view basis by independent entrepreneurs, such
as a reptile exhibit in the carnival area.

          - Attractions provided
through a separate ticket charge by a production entity,
such as auto racing in the grandstand.

          - Attractions provided at
the event's expense for their patrons to enjoy, such as a
          hands on craft center.

          - Attractions provided by
community members for competitive premiums, such as
ribbons for artwork, livestock, floral displays
          etc.

As you can see from
these examples, attractions can be broadly classified as
revenue generating, i.e., carnival rides; revenue neutral,
i.e., sponsored activities; or revenue dependent, i.e.,
premiums awarded. When deciding on the mix of your
attractions remember the underlying similarity of all
        attractions: You provide the
location, they draw people to them.
